A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…
EPISODE III
Endurance Explored
The rebels have returned from a successful mission, and have been informed that they will now be responsible for Alliance operations in the entire Sertar sector.
The Venator Class Star Destroyer that they have made their home is in dire need of repair. In an effort to catalog all that needs to be done, our group of rebels have set to explore the grounded ship and make the much needed repair themselves.
A family of Gundarks has made the underbelly of the ENDURANCE their home. If the base is going to be safe they must be dealt with – one way or another.
The Setup
Initial excursions into the bowels of the Endurance have had limited success. Leeching power from the city is not a viable long term solution for remaining hidden. Sinek opts to command the mission from the Command Center via comlink, while several experts are gathered to explore the ship.
The Fore
The party begins by moving towards the fore, and find themselves blocked out of engineering by a stuck door. It was luckily not a blast-door. While Maro scouted ahead through ventilation ducts, Morian cut the door with her fusion cutter. As it crashed down they noticed several deactivated buzz droids, but several active Stinger droids. Most were dispatched, but one was captured and reprogrammed, now serving Spacer as “Popshot”. The party explored the engineering area and realized there is a small manufacturing plant here, designed to be able to create parts needed for repair and maintenance of the ship. It is currently configured for DC-15 Blaster Pistols.
They continued forward to the Sensors center of the ship. Here the hull of the ship was badly damaged during the crash and the internal systems are somewhat exposed. While searching the area the group noticed a datapad attached to one of the terminals – and a probe droid lurking just outside the ship! The party dispatched the probe droid and sliced the datapad, realizing it had been slicing the sensor systems of the ship, tracking incoming and outgoing traffic! (The ship’s internal sensors had not yet been repaired). Maro was able to determine the owners of the datapad – two low level bounty hunters. The party turned around after Crish surmised they would try to set an ambush at the main hangar elevator – which turned out to be true. As the party left though, they spotted – just a second too late – an Ion mine hidden inside a clone trooper helmet. Cyndi was blasted unconcious. After some medical attention he was brought back, if worse for wear.
Main Elevator
As the party approached the Main Elevator they scouted thoroughly but could see no sign of an ambush. Deciding to press on for now, Morian, spacer, and crish began to climb down through the hole in the elevator floor, down the shaft. They failed to make it all the way down, getting stuck on a ledge some 40 feet above ground – a freighter hangar door. it was while reseating to finish the climb down that they were caught off guard again – spacer spotted another ion mine. He was able to pry this one from the wall and throw it away before it detonated, but Morian was still caught in the blast and knocked unconscious. A fit of fire erupted from two bounty hunters and their probe droids. The noise from the battle stirred some Gundarks underneath inside the main hangar, but luckily they did not seem to move into the area where the battle was taking place. Once the bounty hunters and their droids were dispatched, Morian was cared for and everybody climbed back up the shaft, moving across the elevator towards the aft of the ship.
Secondary Reactors
After crossing the main elevator the party continued through towards the secondary reactors, accessing them via ventilation ducts. The spotted inside a gundark. They decided to just lure the gundark out towards the main elevator by dropping food – the body of one of the bounty hunters – down the elevator shaft. The plan worked, and the sealed the door behind the beast. The parties technicians set to work rerouting the four working reactors, each capable of powering a system. Several more in here were not functioning but would require parts to repair. The party decided to leave the door sealed, and would create warmth elsewhere for the gundarks so that they would stay and act as a security system for the lower bowels of the ship.
